Bob is the Principal of Shelton Design Associates, LLC + Shelton Building Associates, LLC. Founded in 2014, Bob's vision has been to integrate the delivery of innovative, client-focused design with both classic and unique construction methods.
Growing up among a family of tradesmen, Bob's approach to practice is one in which the principles of craftsmanship, integrity, and collaboration drive the company forward. His leadership applies the Master Builder approach; assembling a team of skilled individuals that enhance each others disciplines, to create refined, elevated, and design-forward spaces. While there is no singular style to Shelton projects, Bob ensures the work remains client focused, period sensitive, and craftsmanship driven.
Over his 17+ year career, Bob has worked for large and small architectural firms, contractors, and developers. He has been involved in projects ranging from $1,000 to $250M in value between the residential, retail, hospitality, and continuing care retirement community typologies.
Bob was prepared for the industry with education at Kent State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Architecture. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Kent State University and Chatham University. Bob is a Zoning Hearing Board member in Ben Avon Borough, and is a Registered Architect in PA.

"Florence, Italy. Experiencing life there for four months in a place that old and that
beautiful changes your entire worldview. It forever altered my perspective
on preservation, restoration, and consumerism."
