BOB SHELTON, AIA

Bob Shelton founded Shelton Design/Build in 2014 to create an architect-led design/build practice where design, construction, and craft work together from the beginning. Raised in a family of tradesmen, Bob’s approach is rooted in the Master Builder tradition - bringing designers, builders, and skilled trades together through a collaborative process.

With more than 20 years of experience across residential, retail, hospitality, and senior living projects, Bob leads a team focused on creating refined, design-forward spaces that are both thoughtfully conceived and well built. Rather than working within a singular style, Shelton projects are guided by strong design principles, attention to craft, and a response to the unique context and challenges of each project.

Bob is a Registered Architect in Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from Kent State University. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Architecture and Interior Design at Kent State University and Chatham University.

Bob currently serves on the Board of Directors of AIA Pittsburgh and the Avonworth Girls Athletic Association, and as Chair of the Zoning Hearing Board in Ben Avon Borough, where he lives with his wife and two children.
