FRANKLIN KROUSE
Architectural Design Director / Associate
Franklin joined Shelton after graduating from Kent State’s Master of Architecture program in 2017, drawn to the firm’s distinctive collaboration between craftsmen and designers. Now serving as Architectural Design Director and Associate, he has worked across both residential and commercial projects throughout his time at Shelton.
Previously, he designed for an award winning architectural products manufacturer and local Pittsburgh firms, with work featured in architectural publications. His appreciation for the arts and Pittsburgh’s vernacular informs a contextually sensitive approach that balances thoughtful detailing with the individual needs of each client.
A Pennsylvania native, Franklin traces his interest in art and architecture to his childhood education at the Touchstone Center for Crafts in Southwestern Pennsylvania. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University and lives in the Greensburg area with his wife and daughter.
