A large interior renovation and reconfiguration of a 1920s Tudor-style home in Shadyside, relocating the kitchen from the rear of the house into a paneled former cigar room to reconnect the cook with the family's main living space. The original paneling was rebuilt as the backdrop for a kitchen island and banquette and paired with painted perimeter cabinets and an ogee countertop edge profile nodding to the home's vintage. A mudroom, laundry, powder room, and half bath took the place of the former kitchen. Upstairs, three bathrooms including the primary bath were upgraded. The kitchen won Pittsburgh Magazine's Best of Design award in 2024.
